As each month winds down, CPT members will gather for a festive evening of good food, great drinks, and even better company. Join us at Big Chicks, one of our favorite spots to relax and connect!

When you arrive, head to the cozy room on the left—that’s where the fun happens!

Drinks are available at the bar (cash only, so plan ahead!)
Food can be ordered at the back of our room, offering tasty bites to enjoy while you mingle.

The atmosphere is relaxed and social — folks move around, chat, and catch up throughout the evening. Service might be a bit leisurely, but no one minds when the company’s this good! Please note the bar is CASH ONLY, but there is an ATM to help you out!

We typically start gathering around 6:00 PM, and most of us wrap up by 8:00 PM.

CPT is happy to continue this years-long tradition. Enjoy a delightful, free concert every Wednesday at the Seventeenth Church of Christ, Scientist at the corner of Wabash Avenue and Wacker Drive. Doors open at 11:30 a.m.; concert begins at 12:15 p.m. Refer to the full concert schedule here.

After the concert, please join us for lunch at historic Pittsfield Cafe at 55 E. Washington, just a few blocks south of the church. The concertgoers typically arrive at the cafe between 1:00 and 1:15 p.m., perfect timing for post-concert chatter and a satisfying meal.

After dinner, most of us will walk across the street for OUTspoken at Sidetrack. Of course, you are welcome to join us for dinner at Roscoe's whether or not you plan to attend OUTspoken afterward.

On the first Tuesday of each month, Sidetrack Video Bar hosts OUTspoken, an LGBTQ+ storytelling event. OUTspoken consistently features entertaining and thought-provoking stories, all of which have some gay connection.

Some of us will meet at Roscoe's for dinner at 5:30 p.m. before heading to Sidetrack at around 6:30–6:45 p.m. Please register separately for dinner at Roscoe's if you plan to join us there.

Hopleaf Bar is a renowned Belgian-focused gastropub located at 5148 N. Clark St. in Chicago’s Andersonville neighborhood. Known for an extensive beer list, 68+ taps, and from-scratch cuisine, it is a 21+ venue, so be sure to bring proof of age. Signature dishes include mussels & frites, steak frites, and brisket Reuben, but don't count out the CB&J sandwich, a unique grilled sandwich with cashew butter, fig jam, and raclette cheese. Lunch items begin at $15.

You can reach Hopleaf by taking the #22 or the #92 bus to Clark and Foster. There is very limited street parking.

Since Hopleaf will not provide separate checks, it would be very helpful if everyone could bring cash; this makes it much easier when paying the check.

Paul Lisnek will be our guest speaker for the May Open Social.

Paul Lisnek is a multi-Emmy, Telly, and Cablefax Award-winning television and radio host, author, and commentator. He spent 18 years as WGN-TV’s political and legal analyst and 16 years anchoring its flagship political programs.

A prominent voice in Chicago theater, Paul hosted Broadway Backstage, featuring casts from major productions including Hamilton, Wicked, and Dear Evan Hansen. He now continues that work with his YouTube series, Curtain Call Chicago.

He is the author of fifteen books and holds both a J.D. and Ph.D. from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His career also includes practicing law, teaching, and serving as a jury consultant on high-profile cases such as O.J. Simpson, Phil Spector, Casey Anthony, and Whitewater.

The Museum of Broadcast Communications houses the Paul Lisnek Gallery, a permanent exhibit honoring his career.

His presentation will offer an inside look at Curtain Call Chicago, recommendations for must-see productions, and insights on why Chicago theater can rival—or surpass—New York. He may also share perspectives on today’s political landscape. Audience Q&A will follow.

Indy 500 Dinner with Prime Timers [Indianapolis] (Saturday, May 23, 2026)

The Prime Timers Indianapolis chapter is hosting its fourth annual Race Weekend Dinner for Prime Timers around the country who will be coming to Indianapolis to celebrate the big race held annually over Memorial Day weekend. Please join fellow Prime Timers at the clubhouse located at 4902 Oakwood Trail in Indianapolis from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. (dinner at 6:00 p.m.) on Saturday, May 23. Food and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided by Prime Timers Indianapolis. Come socialize and meet Prime Timers from Indy and other chapters — and good luck with the 50/50 raffle! If you're in town for the race parade, plan to join us after the parade festivities. You are also welcome to bring male-identifying guests; just be sure they are included in the RSVP count.

Again, the Prime Timers Indianapolis chapter is generously providing food and non-alcoholic beverages! So that there will be enough for all guests, be sure to RSVP to SteveHamilton55@aol.com by May 13 to let them know that you (and any guests) will be attending on May 23.

If you're not looking forward to driving home to ChicagoLand after the day's festivities, there's good news! In an act of Hoosier hospitality, a limited number of PrimeTimers Indianapolis members are opening their homes so that you can stay overnight Friday and/or Saturday night. Travel to Indianapolis on Friday, stay overnight with local host, and wake up refreshed on Saturday morning, ready for the Indy 500 parade in downtown Indianapolis before attending the Race Weekend Dinner that evening. Then, get a good night's sleep before returning to Sweet Home Chicago on Sunday! Be sure to contact SteveHamilton55@aol.com by May 13 to let him know of your plans and to check for availability.
