Chicago’s Alexandra Billings has crafted a solid film and TV career since moving to LA, but it sure is fun to see her on the big screen.  Join us for an Open Space Arts event at Facets!

Queen Tut is a 2023 Canadian coming-of-age drama film, directed by Reem Morsi.


The film centers on Nabil (Ryan Ali), a closeted gay teenager from Egypt who is grieving the recent death of his mother. Moving to Toronto to live with his estranged father Iskander (Dani Jazzar), a wealthy but emotionally distant property developer, he finds a new sense of belonging when he meets Malibu (Alexandra Billings), a transgender bar owner in the Church and Wellesley gay village whose nightclub is slated for demolition and redevelopment by Iskander; he gains acceptance and confidence as he joins Malibu's campaign to save her bar, and learns the ropes of becoming a drag queen to honor his mother's memory by embodying her in his art.


The cast also includes Kiriana Stanton, Selena Vyle and Thom Allison, as well as Ben Sanders, Darrin Baker, Matt Willis, Danielle Bourgon, Cru Levey Cru Levey, Kendall Savage, Mostafa Shaker, Kaz Morgan, Khalid Karim, Minh Ly, Asil Moussa and Darren Stewart-Jones in supporting roles. 


Alexandra Billings is nominated for Best Lead Performance in a Comedy Film for the Canadian Film Awards.
