OUT HERE invites audiences beyond their comfort zone in a courageous new musical developed in collaboration with the University of Chicago. This fresh and intimate work offers a rare opportunity to be among the first to experience the story of a family reconfiguring itself and rediscovering joy.

Dawn has a house, a husband, and a family—but she wants more. She wants her ex-girlfriend, Robin. She wants nothing to change, and she wants everything to change—and she wants to control all the terms. As she navigates what’s been and what’s next, Dawn must learn to reimagine her expectations, harmonize with those she loves, and trust the process. If she can do all that, she just might learn a new song.

Directed by CHAY YEW, making his Court Theatre debut, OUT HERE is a bold and innovative new work that closes Court’s 2025–26 season.

Tickets are regularly $80–$90, but we can secure a special group rate of $60 per person (no additional fees) with a minimum of 10 attendees.

Please note that this is an accessible performance on with audio description and ASL interpretation. You are also invited to arrive at 12:30 p.m. for a "touch tour" of the set before the performance starts.
