CHICAGO PRIME TIMERS MOVIE NIGHT: FLESH AND FUEL
Chicago Prime Timers invites you to join us for a special Queer Expression Film Fest screening of FLESH AND FUEL at FACETS Film Forum on Monday, November 30 at 7:00 PM.
Presented by Open Space Arts as part of its ongoing Gay Movie of the Month series, FLESH AND FUEL is a tender, sexy, and deeply human story about two men who find an unexpected chance at love in a world built around constant movement and separation.
Étienne is a lonely French truck driver whose life on the road has become a cycle of long hauls, truck stops, and fleeting encounters. Then he meets Bartosz, a Polish driver, and his carefully contained existence begins to change. As their attraction deepens into something more meaningful, the two men struggle to make room for intimacy within lives defined by distance, demanding work, and the uncertainty of when—or whether—they will see each other again.
Written and directed by Pierre le Gall, the film stars Alexis Manenti as Étienne and Julian Świeżewski as Bartosz. Rather than offering a polished fantasy of romance, FLESH AND FUEL focuses on ordinary middle-aged men and the vulnerability, desire, awkwardness, and tenderness of discovering that connection may still be possible. Critics have particularly praised the warmth and dignity with which the film treats its central relationship.
